2. Answer any one of the following in about 80 words (7 Marks)
On the third birthday of his son, the Maharaja brought a wooden tiger as a gift. Though it appeared harmless, the toy proved dangerous. A tiny sliver from the toy tiger pierced the Maharaja’s hand, leading to infection. Despite medical treatment, the infection worsened and caused his death. Ironically, the hundredth tiger, which he was destined to kill, became the cause of his downfall.
(ii) What did Zitkala-Sa feel when her long hair was cut?Zitkala-Sa felt deeply humiliated and distressed when her long hair was cut. In her culture, short hair was worn by cowards or mourners. She resisted strongly but was overpowered. The incident made her feel oppressed and stripped of her identity. It symbolized the cruelty and insensitivity of the school authorities toward Native American traditions.

Ordinary people played a significant role in the freedom movement. Farmers, workers, students and women participated in protests, boycotts and strikes. They suffered imprisonment and hardships. Their unity and sacrifices strengthened the national movement and forced the British government to reconsider its policies.
(ii) What for is the city of Firozabad famous?Firozabad is famous for its glass industry, especially bangles. Thousands of workers are engaged in manufacturing colourful glass bangles. However, many children are also involved in hazardous conditions. The city reflects both industrial success and social challenges.
